Composing an essay is an easy job that everyone can do. But trying to make an excellent one, one that will stand out from the others and will make you look like a good writer, will show how much you have worked on it and how much you want to do it right is going to be a little bit tougher.

Don't worry though, it doesn't mean you can't do it, because, as long as you have the determination to do it properly and you want everybody to see that you can actually do a great job, it's going to be a pleasant ride, one that will leave you with much more than you have hoped for. It won't only get you a perfect grade, but it will get you some skills that you can use in life, in general, one that can make you pass any test this ride throws at you.

3 Main Steps

  • choose the topic.

If you want to make a great text, the most basic aspect you can start from is the topic. Although it's a very simple thing, it's one of the most important ones as well, simply because the text will be built around that one main idea, that one idea that will define your whole paper, and it will make it good or bad. Try to pick something interesting, something that gives people something to think about and contemplates on after they have finished reading, something that makes you think twice about a certain concept before you encounter it again. And if you already have a pre-set topic, try to take on a new approach to it. Sure, they might give you what to write about, but they never said how to write about it, right? So try to take on a new approach and present that topic from a perspective that was rarely used, or one that has never been used before.

    • the research.

This is another important aspect. You have to make sure that you gather the necessary materials for this, you can't just go in and throw everything that you find. Filter the information, try to take in what's good for the topic, what will make the composition stand out. Research about that particular topic, and don't stop at the first source you find. Take the time to do this step right, and the end result will surely match up to your expectations and maybe even surpass them.

  • the arguments.

After the research is done, you can start writing. How you write is as important as what you write about, so make sure that you think about the arguments that you are going to use, either pro or con. If you have the freedom, use both, so you can present a complete concept, one that shows advantages of a certain perspective and disadvantages or another perspective to that idea. It will show that you have really done your homework, and that you know how to make someone understand a certain idea, not only present it in a boring way. You have to make people think about that particular idea after they have finished it, make them realize that there are multiple angles from where you can look at things and multiple options that you can choose from. This is going to be a big hit, especially if you combine all three steps properly and you make a great effort. Trust yourself and never stop at the first obstacle; you can improve your skills and mind only by working hard.
